Week 2 since the WMTRC announcement and not much has changed. I need to prioritize trail running on Sunday. It was a long day with the LSU game but I will need to figure it out to make sure I’m rested for Sunday. Although these are “negatives” I am highlighting, there are positives too.
I’ll take the consistency and solid track workout on Tuesday. I can see some benefits of strength training. It’s baby steps but nothing major ever happens overnight. I’ll keep chipping away and I know improvements will come. Just need to be patient and stay focused.
Week 11 Training Details:
Monday (September 12, 2022)
- Rest day
Tuesday (September 13, 2022)
- Back to the track with an early start with Matt Campbell
- Steady 800s through 4 reps and cut down to 2:40 and 2:39 with Train Pegasus
- Couldn’t keep up with Matt on the 400s but did some 200s and MP miles on the return to StarKnox
- Great workout and best one in a while!
Wednesday (September 14, 2022)
- Another recovery route at Flag Pole Hill
- Can you tell I’m a fan of this route? lol
Thursday (September 15, 2022)
- Overslept and missed the Tempo run but I would’ve taken it easier after the Tuesday workout
- Threw in a couple of MP miles down Katy so I could make it to a meeting
Friday (September 16, 2022)
- Missed early miles again. I hate blaming work but I should’ve managed this better
- I still got the miles did which is important. I always say “any miles are better than no miles” so I better mean it
Saturday (September 17, 2022)
- Gotta love Tour de Fleur for bringing the warmth and humidity
- Took it easy on the super loop but had fun with the Salty Crew
Sunday (September 18, 2022)
- Busy morning heading up to Irving to watch Jodi and Landon crush the PTO US Open 100K triathlon
- It was a warm day but they made Train Pegasus proud!
- Easy evening miles to wrap up a 50-mile week
