I was close to my 50 mile goal (49) this week! So close but it felt so far away. I was able to complete 2 workouts with another big Thursday workout (thanks to Dan). I still felt pretty strong overall. I thought I could sneak in a third workout on Saturday but the rain had other plans.
I view each week as an opportunity to seek improvements. I can always be better. The balance is recognizing the accomplishments as well. In other words, not being hard on myself.
Made it to Chiang Mai in one piece. One more week until race day!
Week 17 Training Details (49 total miles):
Monday (October 10, 2022)
- 3 days of no running makes one anxious. Glad the legs weren’t dead!
Tuesday (October 4, 2022)
- The wind was something else this day but no excuses
- I took the focus off split times and focused on effort
Wednesday (October 17, 2022)
- Luke’s social run is starting to become an alternating week
- If I miss run because I slept in, I do my best to run in the afternoon
- This time it was successful but Friday was a different story…
Thursday (October 18, 2022)
- Another big Thursday tempo with Dan
- Made it the whole way without stopping
- The spillway took some momentum away, but we still managed a solid progression at the end
Friday (October 14, 2022)
- The rain had other plans and I missed an opportunity to run
- Usually I am okay with a Friday rest day but I wanted to meet my mileage goal
Saturday (October 15, 2022)
- One last (rainy) long run before heading to Chiang Mai!
- I love the Dallas running community – it’s not the most “desirable” running city but the people support each other like family
Sunday (October 16, 2022)
- Rest day
- Early wake up call to hit the Flagship Lounge!
